The NGO I founded: Handmaking Hope collaborated with a Fashion Label in Noida, India: I Am For You to launch the 'The Dari Project.'
It is an effort in sustainability & women empowerment by teaching rural women the craft of handwaving, to create flat-weave rugs using cut-room fabric waste which were sold to raise money for migrant families during the CoVID-19 pandemic.
This socially engaged project aimed at trying to combat the two primary ill effects of the CoVID-19 pandemic: the surfeit in waste production due to the increase of single-use products, and the lack of employment and financial income of daily-wage earners.
